Statement of Intent

  For my  TV Documentary advertisement, I will make sure that the content featured on the poster will adhere to the restrictions and regulations  imposed onto  print advertisements by the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) . For example,  none of my posters will feature any  graphi c depictions of violence  or gore,  or  anything  portraying illega l,  vulgar  or explicit   actions  that  would cause any extensive  harm or upset to any audience. I  have to  keep in mind that th ese advertisements will  be  shown on billboards and therefore will be see n  by a variety of people that are not my intended primary target audience of  16–25-year-olds .  This means that my posters must be  appropriate for  the public eye .   The TV documentary itself will not require any specific broadcasting time (i.e.  media portraying any  adult material would hav...

Planning for TV Documentary

  Ideas for TV Documentary (and Rejected Ideas)   The type  of documentary that I will be making is a behind-the-scenes type documentary focussing on the making of a (made up) movie. Some pieces of media that I have taken inspiration  from are the Marvel Studios Assembled anthology documentary series that delves into the same topic for a variety of Marvel movies; although my idea differs from their advertisements as I obviously do not have the equipment that they have to feature in my posters. I am thinking of the imagery for being posters being shot as if they were a frame in a film, with more focus on the mise- en -scene and camera work than actual technology you would typically see in a behind-the-scenes making of a movie.   I’m  thinking of including a direct mode of address in the tagline of my documentary, using second person pronouns to develop a personal connection and make the audience feel included.   Numerical Data and Audience Figures   According to  Evoca , the global Over-The-Top platform user base grew from approximately 4.1 billion in 2020 to 4.95 billion in 2023 and is predicted to increase by billions in the next few years.
